tenths

JP: what 1/10 is like; knowing that 0.3 ≠3% (perhaps link between tenths and hundredths and place value)

decimalFraction(3) didn’t develop the concept of tenths and hundredths: rewritten to include place value grid alongside pictures and fractions

decimalFraction

scaleRead (5) will help reading off a scale in 0.1s

(teaching this skill has been through 3 iterations scaleInterpret, rulerANDscale and now ruler with scaleRead coming soon)

Knowing what 0.3 looks like and the equivalence of 0.3 and 3/10 is now much better covered. Knowing what 0.3 and 0.03 look like together is now covered. Knowing that 0.3 ≠3% will come when learners can convert between decimals and percentages (after decimal fraction 4 + 5).
