How timely practice chooses which layers to include if there are too many layers waiting.
timely practice Classwork assignment
Fragile learning is prioritised over other learning. A fragile layer which should be practised after 2 days, if practised one day late will be 50% late. However a mastered layer which should be practised after 20 days, if practised one day late will be only 5% late. So allowing fragile learning to "push in the queue" makes sense providing that improving and mastered learning does eventually get practised.
timely practice Homework assignment
Mastered and other learning is prioritised over fragile learning. It is likely that students will be able to more independently and accurately answer questions on learning they remember better than on fragile learning (i.e. learning less embedded in memory). So if a homework assignment is made up of robust learning and little or no fragile learning students are
- more likely to do their homework
- more likely to do their homework independently (i.e. without unacknowledged help).
Top Tip: Set a timely practice Homework assignment before a Classwork assignment.
