Hermann Ebbinghaus  - in 1885 - systematically studied forgetting. He found as time goes by, memory fades unless ...  we practice/review.

  

By a practice question or by reviewing - before we have forgotten - we extend the time before we will remember for. This is spaced learning.Each vertical line is brought about by a practice question
